This small group showed me that God’s timing is EVERYTHING. I joined a month before the pandemic started and little did I know it would be the one thing that kept me going through the battles of 2020. How our small group got started.
How our small group got started.
In late 2019, I had some deep conversations with my sister and my twin cousins.
Although these conversations happened separately, they all had a common thread: Each of them was struggling with their faith, their dating life, and they all truly wanted to connect with God in a way that they hadn't before.
So, I thought it would be a good idea to meet every week and watch Pastor Mike Todd's "Relationship Goals" series. We enjoyed the experience so much we decided to continue our weekly meetings! From there, I created a group chat for us called the Growing in Christ Accountability Group and that's really where this whole thing began.
Little did I know that one year later I'd be brought to tears at the growth each of them has gone through.
Not only that, but I found God's calling for my life through this group. He showed me how I'm supposed to use my love of mentorship to start Faith & Fruit Ministries – which is why you're reading this now :)
After our first year of weekly calls, God told me that we couldn't keep this to ourselves – it was too powerful!
So, in summer 2021, we began inviting our friends to our calls and encouraged them to invite their friends, too.
We created a true small group where women from all different levels in their faith come to join in a safe, non-judgmental place. We discuss a variety of faith-based content, celebrate each other, pray for each other, support each other and help each other learn to grow in our personal relationships with Christ.
Through the power of Zoom and Instagram, we're able to stay in touch and hold this gathering with women across the country. It's something I could have never dreamed possible and it's only growing from here!
This small group is the heart of this ministry. I've seen real change happen through the power of community, accountability and the Holy Spirit.
